January 31, 2020 Dear Friends & Stakeholders, This year Crown O’Maine was successful in completing a $1MM capital raise, and with this milestone comes several positive changes to our business. The capital raised will strengthen our purchasing with local farms, allow us to expand our sales team and our market reach, and provide working capital for growth ahead. As part of this initiative, our worker owners and shareholders voted to transition our business structure from a worker cooperative to a Benefit Corporation, allowing board and ownership participation from both workers and investors. We remain supportive of the cooperative model and worker cooperatives in particular. If you’d like to discuss the differences in our ownership model, please feel free to reach out to me. Our mission has been expanded in the new structure to include purchasing from local suppliers, promoting the role of workers in ownership and governance, seeking solutions to minimize our environmental impact, and promoting the viability of small scale family farms in Maine. I deeply appreciate the past support that has allowed us to reach this goal, and look forward to shared success in the future. Yours, Marada Cook
